Demisexuality stands between sexuality and asexuality. A demisexual person cannot experience sexual attraction unless they form an emotional connection first. In other words, if they don’t have strong feelings about someone, they won’t engage in any sexual activity. Though the term refers to being “halfway between” sexual and asexual, it doesn’t mean that demisexuals have an incomplete or half-sexuality, they only lack sexual attraction until a close bond is built.
