6 Ways To Become The Best Version Of Yourself

Everyone, even those who are quite pleased with themselves want to be better. Everyone understands this evolution differently and their ideal image about how their lives could someday look like is also different. But there are some things that seem universal in the quest for the best version of oneself.

Nobody is perfect and that’s a good thing. If we were the best version of ourselves, we wouldn’t have anything to strive for. There will be no growing, only slow withering. To realize that nobody is perfect is already a big step towards becoming all that you can be. Here are some things you should keep in mind.

1. Take time for yourself

All the good plans you have, all your dreams and hopes for the future will crumble if you cannot be there to make them come true. You need to find the right balance between work and leisure, between what you need to do and what you want to do.

2. Find out what your core values are

Before accomplishing anything, you need to know what are the values that you want to guide you in your journey. They may be changing with time and that’s normal, but so is the night sky, and sailors still use it to navigate the stormy waters.

3. Establish an action plan

You don’t need to plan your whole life in details in order to be happy. In fact, it would be quite crazy if you did. But for specific goals, having an action plan is essential. Taking it step by step and not allowing yourself to get overwhelmed is also of great importance.

4. Forgive and forget

It’s not easy to really forgive someone who has wronged you. Forgetting about the injustice or the suffering you have put out with is even harder. You don’t have to be hasty about it. Forgive when you are ready to and not before speaking out for yourself, but do forgive. It’s a gift for yourself, not only for others.

5. Be grateful for what you have

Most of the time the glass is indeed half empty. You don’t have to lie to yourself about that. But you can make an effort to see the good in you and in others, to be grateful for what you have and hopeful about what you want to achieve.

6. Don’t forget to give back

You don’t have to be rich to be generous like a king/queen. You may not have enough money to be as charitable as you might want to be, but you can offer those around you your compassion, your attention and your time. Which is all that they really need most of the times.

The best version of yourself is the one that you can be at peace with and that of which you can be proud. Please, share this!
