The media icon has finally addressed the presidency rumors that spread rapidly following her Time’s Up speech at the Golden Globes. This idea brought only excitement among fans worldwide but Oprah sadly ends all speculations:
“In that political structure – all the non-truths, the bullshit, the crap, the nastiness, the backhanded backroom stuff that goes on – I feel like I could not exist. I would not be able to do it. It’s not a clean business. It would kill me.”
For those hoping to see Oprah Winfrey sitting in the presidential chair in the future, this is understandably disappointing. In view of the above, we can surely say that she’s not cut out for this. Not now neither in the future.
The talk-show host talks about the Time’s Up and #metoo movements, saying that these are remarkable times we’re living: “People talk about ‘these are such dark times’, but what if we shift the paradigm? Because I see it differently. I see, ‘Isn’t this remarkable that we’re waking up?’ For years, women have endured craziness. This is what’s happening to people. They’re allowing themselves to not just become corroded, but to become hysterical. You’ve got to lean to the happiness.”
In the rare one-on-one interview with writer Decca Aitkenhead, Oprah shared some insight on the royal wedding she attended earlier this year:
“It left me feeling that anything is possible through the power of love. Reverend Curry was right!”
