Lena Headey Crushed After Male Reporter Told Her She Was “Really Disappointing In Real Life”

Lena Headey says she ‘was crushed’ after a male reporter told her she’s ‘really disappointing in real life’ and looks better with a blonde wig than her natural brunette look (via Insider). This shows us that celebrities are just normal, real people like us, who can get hurt by some foolish words thrown by journalists. Furthermore, it’s a sneak peek into the reality of Hollywood and the type of treatment women get, being offended by reporters with such easiness.

Lena Headey has played Cersei Lannister, one of the central characters in ‘Game of Thrones’, for seven years now but that doesn’t mean she aces the interviews. In a resurfaced video from her June appearance on “Running Wild With Bear Grylls”, she admitted to being ‘horrible’ at them and recalled one particular press conference that left her wretched.

“You have to do these things for all the awards and everything where loads of people interview you. I went in and was seven months pregnant and [there was] a whole room of journalists, and this guy stood up and he said, ‘Uh I just want to say that you’re really disappointing in real life.’”

In front of a room full of people, the reporter went on to say that she really looked better in character as Cersei Lannister.

“He went, ‘Is that your real hair? And I went ‘Yeah’ and he said, ‘The wig is much better. I like you as a blonde.’ I was like, ‘OK.’ I was just crushed. How is that alright to say?”

Even movie stars are not safe from humiliation or distress due to mean and blunt comments. Live or written down.

Lena Headey is currently filming ‘Game of Thrones’ final season, which will air on HBO in the first half on 2019.
