Most of the time, we don’t even realize the amount of bacteria on our hands. Our hands are on a trajectory of their own so we’re talking about nasty bacteria that make their way to certain parts of our body.

You regularly touch your face, mouth and other parts of your body, without realizing that you are literally spreading bacteria all over. Well, if you want to stay healthy, you should be more aware of this.

Here are 8 parts of your body you really should avoid touching:

1. Face

It’s not the first time you hear that, for certain. You should avoid touching your face as much as possible. Your hands carry viruses, bacteria or allergens that can have negative effects on your skin and overall health. It’s more of a twitch but we must abstain from it otherwise we could face serious afflictions.

2. Mouth

Do you ever think about how many times you touch your lips? Around hundreds if not thousands of times of day! According to recent studies, about a quarter of bacteria is transferred from fingertips to the mouth and lips. So try to keep your hands away from your mouth and lips. Don’t put fingers in your mouth, you really have no idea how much bacteria is on your hands.

3. Nose

Yes, you can touch your nose, but don’t stick your fingers inside of your nose. In your nasal cavity, there are healthy bacteria but when you put your fingers there, you bring other different stuff that can harm your health.

4. Booty

You know this from kindergarten, your hands should not travel to that area. If they do, be sure to wash your hands every time after, because bacteria like E.coli is pretty dangerous for health.

5. Eyes

Eyes are really delicate, you can get a pink eye if you rub your eyes. Your hands full of bacteria need to stay away from your eyes at all costs.

6. Ears

Remember those ear sticks that a lot of people used in the past? Well, according to recent research, they don’t do good to your ears, they can even hurt you. Ears have a self-cleaning system and you should not stick your fingers there.

The skin is too delicate and introducing new bacteria can be disastrous for your ears. If you collect wax in your ears or seem to have an infection, visit the doctor and don’t try to fix it yourself.

7. Nails

Underneath your nails, you can find at least twice as much bacteria as there is on any other part of your hand. Washing your hands doesn’t really do the trick because soap can’t reach that area.

8. Wounds

By all means, do not touch a wound without washing your hands first. We’ve talked about how much bacteria is resting on your hands so it’s not a good idea to get your fingers out there unless you want to get an infection.
