A new study that examined brothers from US and Europe found that second-born kids are more likely to be rebellious. Think about it, children who come into this world second do not rejoice in the candid and undivided attention of their parents. The genuine care that parents display for the first baby doesn’t even compare with to the next one.

The seconds in line are 20 to 40 per cent more likely to get involved in illegal activities, according to this survey. They have higher rates of juvenile crime and imprisonment than do their brothers. The study suggests it might be about changes in the parenting style from the first baby to the second one. So much so that the arrival of the second child actually extends the parental investment in their first-born child.
