They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And that’s true. There are few things more fulfilling or promising for our health than enjoying a big breakfast.

New research tells us that more and more people are skipping breakfast these days, especially teens.

And this translates into obesity. How so?

Well, when we skip such an important meal, we will crave all sorts of foods and sweets later in the day, to make up for that morning loss.

The same study says that eating a good breakfast, especially one rich in protein will lower your food cravings later in the day. You could try eggs, any type of nuts and seeds, yogurt or milk.

This is how it works: when we eat, the reward center is activated and there’s a boost in dopamine, a neurotransmitter. When we don’t get that in the morning, when the digestion process is much easier than in the evening, our health suffers.
