1. Think of promoting the product, not yourself
Putting some distance between yourself and the thing that you created helps a lot. Even when you are selling a set of skills, you should think of it as something that deserves recognition. When it’s something that you created and about which you are enthusiastic, focus on the product and not on you being its author.

2. Imagine yourself playing a role
Imagining yourself playing the role of a promoter helps because it tell you it’s something temporary. This can be a fun way to trick yourself to do something you really don’t want to do, but needs to be done.

3. Confidence comes with practice
We usually wait to become confident, motivated or inspired enough to do the things we want to do. But sometimes, that special moment doesn’t come and you have to push yourself to confront your fears. And once you see that it wasn’t as bad as you expected it to be, your confidence follows.
