Let’s face it: the world is not at its best. And you probably feel disappointed and hopeless, because you consider that there’s nothing you can do to make things better. But maybe the answer is to focus on the little things you can do. Here are some suggestions.
1. Plant a tree
A mature leafy tree produces as much oxygen in a season as 10 people inhale in a year. So by planting a tree you can give others the gift of clean air. And give the planet another chance.
2. Donate your time
We know you’re busy with work and everything else. But carving some hours from your busy schedule in order to support a cause you consider worthy can make a great difference. Helping others will make you feel better about yourself.
3. Visit an old person
Being old often means being lonely. Take a couple of minutes to visit a grandparent, an older aunt or neighbor. You can discover some great stories, while brightening somebody’s day.
4. Put your skills to work
A good doctor makes the world a better place every day by saving lives. A good teacher creates a better future for her students. No matter what job you have, do it well! No matter what skills you have, put them to good use!
5. Spread the knowledge
Not everyone is lucky enough to have access to education. If you are one of the privileged, acknowledge it and make an effort to spread the knowledge. It can mean donating money to an educational institution or mentoring a young person.
You can make a difference in the world. Please, share this!
