Being smart doesn’t always mean making smart choices or having good habits. Here are 3 bad habits that are associated with superior intelligence.
1. Waking up late
We have been taught that the early bird gets the worm. But waking up late can mean you’re smarter than average. Smart people tend to be night owls and that’s why they need to sleep until late. They have the ability to override their internal biological clocks. People like Charles Darwin, Winston Churchill and Elvis Presley used to be night owls, so if you a hard time waking up early, you’re in good company.
2. Being messy
Do you dislike cleaning your room? Well, that’s probably because you prefer spending time doing things that are more interesting. Psychological scientist Kathleen Vohs says: “Disorderly environments seem to inspire breaking free of tradition, which can produce fresh insights. Orderly environments, in contrast, encourage convention and playing it safe.”
Contrary to popular belief, people who swear a lot don’t have a limited vocabulary. On the contrary, studies have shown that a rich vocabulary of swear words is a sign of rhetorical strength rather than the attempt to hide verbal deficits.
Moreover, other studies have concluded that people who swear are more honest than those who don’t use profanities.
